PMODCDC1 demonstrates capacitance to digital proximity sensing through two capacitative "buttons. " The AD7156 is used to measure the capacitances of the two buttons separately by exciting the capacitance and sampling the response. It stores data as a 16bit word that you can read by accessing the correct data registers via I2C. The user can set a capacitance threshold for both buttons individually, and when that threshold is reach the associated output pin will be driven high.
- Based on the Analog Devices AD7156 1.8V, 2 channel capacitance converter
- I2C communication interface
- Two capacitance input channels
- Adaptive proximity threshold
