The DS1832S+T&R is a 3.3V MicroMonitor chip in 8 pin NSOIC package. It monitors three vital conditions for microprocessor such as power supply, software execution and external override. First, a precision temperature compensated reference and comparator circuit monitor the status of VCC. When an out of tolerance condition occurs, an internal power fail signal is generated which forces reset to an active state. When VCC returns to an in-tolerance condition, the reset signals are kept in active state for minimum of 250ms to allow power supply and processor to stabilize. The second function of DS1832 is pushbutton reset control. It debounces pushbutton input and provides an active reset pulse width of 250ms minimum. The third function is a watchdog timer. It has an internal timer that forces reset signals to active state if strobe input is not driven low prior to timeout. The watchdog timer function can be set to operate on timeout settings of approximately 150ms, 600ms or 1.2sec.
