The TPS40422EVM-091 is an evaluation module designed to evaluate the performance of the TPS40422 Dual output or multiphase synchronous buck controller with PMBus. The evaluation module is designed to use a regulated 8.0Vdc to 14.0Vdc bus to produce two regulated outputs. One output is 1.2Vdc at a maximum of 20A load current, and the other is 3.3V at a maximum of 15A load current. The evaluation module also features the CSD86350Q5D NexFET power block FETs. The evaluation module is designed to demonstrate the TPS40422 in a typical dual output application. The TPS40222 operates at 1.25MHz and supports up to 1.6A output loads. The output voltage can be programmed to as low as 0.8V. The TPS40222 utilises pulse by pulse current limit as well as frequency foldback to protect the converter during a catastrophic short circuited output condition.
