The TPS7A3401EVM-042 is an evaluation module and reference design for TPS7A3401 negative voltage, low dropout DC/DC regulator with an adjustable output voltage for loads up to 200mA. This particular evaluation module configuration contains a single linear regulator with internal thermal and current limit shutdowns, and enable (disable) circuitry in a 3mmx5mm, MSOP 8, thermally enhanced PowerPAD package. The regulator, including external components, is capable of delivering up to -200mA to the load, depending on the input output power dissipation, at an operating input voltage down to -20V. The evaluation module output voltage is adjustable by an external resistor divider from -1.2V to -17V. The resistor divider is preset to provide VOUT approximately equal to -15V. The TPS7A3401 linear regulator is suitable for cost effective, post dc/dc converter regulation. By filtering out the output voltage ripple inherent to dc/dc switching conversion, increased system performance is provided.
